· ·

We walk around with one EVERY day, so why are we still believing these straight up lies about our own anatomy? WHO TOLD US THESE THINGS? Not cool. It's time for us to share the truth, boo! Here are 7 common vagina misconceptions debunked:

Myth #1 - Healthy vaginas don't smell.

Truth: A little vaginal odor down there is NORMAL. The scent can vary based on your diet, menstrual cycle, or your water intake.

Myth #2 - Lots of sex causes vaginal looseness.

Truth: Freaking FALSE. Your vagina is a muscle so it's only normal for it is expand and contract. When you're turned on, it loosens for easier insertion and shrinks back to its normal size afterwards.

Myth #3 - There is something wrong with you if you can't orgasm from vaginal penetration.

Truth: In a recent study, only 18% of women said they can orgasm from penetration alone. Most need clitoral stimulation to assist in climax

Myth #4 - Too much masturbation can cause negative side effects.

Truth: There is no such thing as masturbating too often. In fact, masturbating has handfuls health benefits such as: stress release, eased period cramps, & a roadmap to better understanding your body

Myth #5 - The bigger the penis the better.

Truth: The bigger does NOT mean the better. Better sex comes from compatibility with your partner and being open in communication with what feels good

Myth #6 - Your labia should look one specific way.

Truth: Labias come in ALL different shapes, sizes, and lengths so there is no "normal" way yours should look

Myth #7 -  Vaginas need to be constantly cleaned.

Truth: The naturally clean itself. In fact, too much washing or using washing aids can cause problems to your vaginal pH balance leading to infections.
